Turcite® Rods

The Turcite® Rod family of self-lubricating materials exhibit: low water absorption, dimensional stability, high wear resistance and chemical and corrosion resistance. Turcite® A and X are recommended for a maximum service temperature of 180°F (80° C). Turcite® A and X rods range in diameter from .250” - 6” and have a max length of 1 - 8 feet, depending on required diameter.
Turcite A (sometimes referred to TA)
Developed for general purpose load and speed applications. Turcite® A exhibits an excellent surface finish when machined. Exceptional service life and superior chemical resistance.

Turcite® X (sometimes referred to as TX)
Optimally engineered to handle moderate load, high speed applications. Turcite® X exhibits the same excellent surface finish as Turcite® A when machined. Long service life and exceptionally low coefficient of friction and high PV are characteristics of Turcite® X.

Turcite® A and X rod provide the design engineer with material choices based upon load, speed, wear temperature and friction. Some uses of A rod include transmissions, home appliances, bicycles, food processing equipment, exercise equipment, rotating displays and cater assemblies. X rod has been used in medical equipment, scientific instruments, some lead screw nuts, and computer products among others.
